Birds in Midland, Texas

Great crested flycatcher
[Bird with a grey top, yellow belly, and dark wings and tail is perched on the branch of a tree with small oval leaves. The bird's head is stretched to the left as if something unexpectedly caught its attention.]

Hermit thrush
[A bird with a short, sharp beak (a seed-eating beak) with a white breast and grey outer feathers perched in a tree with its head turned to the right.]

Wren
[Looking from the underside of a brown bird with a whitish belly perched on leafless branches chirping to the blue sky with an open, long, thin beak.]

White-winged Dove on a house roof
[Tan-colored bird with a skinny beak and white edgeing to its wing and pinkish feet standing on a asphalt-tile room near a vent.]

Killdeer
[A bird on the dirt with a white belly and a white neck, but a brown back and brown head with a black section around its eye sort of like a mask. It's larger than a perching bird, but smaller than a duck.]

I've not yet identified this bird.
[Bird is perched inside a link of a chain-link fence with its head turned to one side as the front half of its body is on one side of the fence and the rest is on the other side.]

Blue jay
[Bird is perched at the top of a young oak tree complete with leaves. This blue bird with a grey-blue head and belly has white, black, and light blue squarish patches on its glue back. Its tail has white tips.]

Red wing blackbirds
[Three red wing blackbirds sitting on the rail atop a chain-link fence. One bird faces the right while the other two a bit further down on the rail face the left. The birds are all black except for their side wing section which is red and yellow.]

Savannah sparrow
[A medium perching bird with a brown and tan striped belly and brown with white highlights on the edges of its wing and tail feathers as well as on its head. It's a variegated brown-white image atop some field vegetation.]

Male great-tailed grackle
[An all black bird with a yellow eye with a black dot in it walks along the ground vegetation. It has a long tail.]

Female great-tailed grackle
[In a oval-leafed tree sits a bird with a brown belly and head and black wings and beak. It also has a yellow eye with a black dot.]

Male house finch
[Near the apex of a roof stands a bird with a red head and partial red belly with the rest of it a grey-brown and tan mixture. It has a light-colored beak and stares straight at the camera.]

Female house finch
[On the bare section of a branch of a tree sits a brown and light-grey striped bird who's facing the right.]

Canada geese
[A formation of five geese forming a slightly wavy dark arc against a blue and white mostly cloud-covered sky.]
