Just a few weeks later, the bare ground seen in the photos on the prior page was buried in snow.
Turin, NY - February 23, 2012

Across the road
[Tire tracks through about 6 inches of snow on a pathway through a field of snow covered tree and bush branches. The sun peeks through the back half of the image.]

Another view across the road
[A row of snow covered tree and bush branches beside a snow covered expanse just beside the road unseen in the foreground. An open snow covered field can be seen beyond the trees.]

Snow Ridge ski slopes
[Two ski slopes amid snow covered trees devoid of leaves. At the base of the hill is a row of pines.]

Zoomed out view of the slopes.
[A zoomed out view of the prior image showing fields in the foreground with marsh-like reeds amid the snow.]

Neighboring farm
[On the left are two leafless trees outlined against the sky and towering over a house and adjacent building. A barn with a silo are on the right. A snow covered field sits in the foreground.]

Snow piled on every branch.
[A leafless tree with lots of small branches has a noticeable build-up of snow on every dark branch. It's like someone put icing on all the skyward portions of the tree.]

A broad view of the back yard
[Two photos stitched together with ski slopes in the background on the right and a line of pines on the left.]

A few days later - February 26, 2012

I saw this tree and understood why we put icicles on Christmas trees.
[Single evergreen tree with icicles up to six inches long hanging from most of the branches on the tree. Tree is framed by a sunny blue sky.]

Close view of the tree
[Lower branches of the tree with a multitide of 4 inch long icicles hanging from the tree.]

Some closer views
[A small section of branches with many, many icicles at least 4 inches each overlapping on each other.]

[A small section of branches with icicles hanging from each branch tip. The icicles range in length from an inch to four inches.]

Later in the day, the sun made the icicles sparkle.
[Another view where the ice appears to sparkle as if lit from within.]

Continue to see colorful birds. (page 5 of 8)
